What features are you looking to include in the "remote" software and approx when might we expect this?

    Also cost?

Ultimately we are looking to provide complete control of iSTAR via a remote connection. Of course the access and download speeds of any captured images will be dependant on the bandwidth of your connection.

I don't have any further information yet on availability or pricing.

    Andrew,

This looks exactly what we are after, has there been any progress over the past 4 months?  When are we likely to see the remote software?

    Cheers,

    Hi George,

Yes we've been making progress on this but I'm afraid no details available for public release at this stage.

    Hello,

I seem to be blocked from accessing page  http://support.nctechimaging.com/entries/24769092.

Is it beta testing only or not available as we would like to use the remote software if possible please?

    Regards

    Hi Paul,

I've just updated your status so you can now access the Beta Testers section of the Support Portal. However, the original "CamUI" application that this thread referred to has since been superseded by the latest firmware v2.0.2 update: http://support.nctechimaging.com/entries/90025673

The v2.0.2 firmware release allows you to connect to iSTAR over WiFi or ethernet where you can then use a web browser to access a camera control page being delivered to the browser from a web server on iSTAR.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the Beta Testers access, much appreciated. I saw that the new firmware had the facility to control the iStar via WiFi but couldn't get it working earlier. I was trying to connect via an Android device. Is there a specific setting within the iStar I have to set or do I just use the adhoc feature? I'll have another go.

I have to say, the new firmware v2.0.2 is very good indeed and we have had some stunning results with it. The same has to be said about IM Suite 5.1.0. Great work by all there at NCTech, keep up the good work!!!!

    Thanks and Regards

It's not possible to connect to an AdHoc network from an Android device. Here's what you need to do instead:

    1. Setup a "hotspot" connection from your android device
    2. Connect iSTAR to the Androids WiFi network.
    3. Make a note of the IP address assigned to iSTAR by the Android device
    4. Finally, from the Android device use enter the IP address of the iSTAR into a browser address bar to connect to the iSTAR webserver interface to control iSTAR.

Thanks for the feedback on the updates  and guess what - we've got a lot more to come just around the corner!
